Your Role

The Quality Assurance team at Quest Technology Management is integral to our Data & Analytics division.

We deliver comprehensive testing services for various Data & Analytics initiatives that encompass enterprise data sourced from multiple channels through intake layers into downstream data repositories.

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will report to the IT Manager. In this capacity, you will collaborate with Data & Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Analysis, Application, and Business teams.

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will:
  • Develop testing scenarios and associated scripts (Functional and SIT) based on specified requirements and business insights.
  • Participate in requirement discussions and assess requirements for testability.
  • Create traceability from development handoff through testing phases.
  • Engage in design discussions to comprehend design implications on testing.
  • Provide testing estimates for significant initiatives as requested under the guidance of testing leadership.
  • Review Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Technical Design Documents (TDD), Data Models, and Source-to-Target Mapping documents (STTM).
  • Prepare Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Data, Test Cases, and Test Scripts based on BRD, TDD, and STTM.
  • Review testing artifacts with business users and technical teams.
  • Maintain test cases in the test management system and track defects using JIRA.
  • Conduct daily defect discussions with IT Project Managers, Development teams, and Business teams.
  • Provide testing reports/status updates to Test Leads and IT Project Managers, discussing any roadblocks as necessary.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for defects/issues and offer solutions when required.
  • Adhere to best practices and uphold quality assurance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in business, development, release, and project management.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Agile methodologies.
  • Provide overall technical leadership across multiple projects concurrently.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of automation frameworks and the ability to design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks.
  • Execute and maintain test scripts within the automation framework for regression and smoke testing of various applications.
  • Apply advanced professional principles and concepts to complex work assignments.
  • Participate in and present during automation code reviews.
  • Evaluate the suitability of manual test cases for automation.

Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with 4 years in Data Warehousing preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Cloud Data Platform Testing, particularly with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen2 and data pipeline development using DBT Cloud/Core tool on Snowflake DB.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, Relational Database Design Methods (Snowflake/Star Schema), and Slowly Changing Dimensions.
  • Ability to analyze error logs in UNIX, update shell scripts, and create SQL scripts.
  • Capability to perform automated regression testing in all non-production environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in the healthcare domain is preferable but not mandatory.
  • Preferred experience working on at least one large data warehouse project/initiative.
  • Hands-on experience with Informatica or similar ETL tools.
  • Ability to analyze and write testing cases based on ETL specifications and Source-to-Target Mapping documents.
  • Knowledge of data & analytics in cloud environments.
  • Demonstrate a mindset of continuous improvement in processes and technology.
  • Experience with coding in Python or any other object-oriented programming language is preferred.
