Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Operations Manager to join our team at WEIS LLC. As a key member of our retail bakery team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bakery department, ensuring high-quality products, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Product Quality: Ensure that all bakery products meet our high standards of quality, taste, and appearance.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, track sales reports, and order products and supplies to meet customer demands and drive sales.
  • Team Management: Supervise and train bakery associates, oversee scheduling, and participate in performance reviews and new hire interviews.
  • Merchandising: Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet financial goals, stay up-to-date on weekly ads and specials, and maintain accurate pricing and production amounts.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and associate performance, and report on important matters to management.
  • Delivery and Receiving: Verify all department deliveries and invoices, and ensure accurate billing and product rotation.
  • Expense Control: Control department expenses by improving operations and efficiencies, reducing labor costs, and minimizing losses due to damages and spoilage.
  • Store Appearance: Maintain a clean and well-stocked bakery department, and ensure that merchandise is fresh, in saleable condition, and properly priced.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth function of the department and store.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; associate or bachelor's degree in business or food service-related field desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in management in retail/restaurant/supermarket environment; previous decorating experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong leadership and communication skills.
