The Director of Real Estate Assessments will provide leadership and supervision to staff, perform difficult and complex tasks, and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and supervision to staff
  • Directs financial operations of the department

  • Establishes and maintains records and documents
  • Directs and supervises real estate activities
  • Ensures maintenance of uniform and equitable assessments
  • Replies to inquiries from the public
  • Holds public hearings and reviews
  • Provides information to the County Attorney
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in real estate assessment
  • 5 years of direct supervisory experience
  • Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License from the State of Virginia
Working Conditions

B. Environment: Office - Primary, Field - Required to gather information, analyze and value property

C. Physical Effort: Minimal
