The Academy employs a dedicated staff whose teaching methods and high academic and behavioral standards aim to promote excellence, enabling the community's youth to thrive.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Science Educator at The Academy Charter School is responsible for delivering captivating lessons that align with educational standards, focusing on the holistic development of students. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing high-quality lesson plans and curricula that comply with school guidelines. Educators are tasked with creating a secure and open environment where structure is maintained, and student progress is regularly evaluated. Differentiation and accommodations must be provided to support the growth of all students. Additionally, educators are expected to enforce safety protocols and ensure the appropriate use of scientific equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop daily lesson plans in accordance with The Academy Charter Schools curriculum in collaboration with leadership team members.
- Instruct high school-level science and laboratory classes utilizing lectures, technology, and hands-on learning experiences.
- Prepare and conduct demonstrations; assist and supervise students during experiments.
- Assess student performance through various methods, including observation and performance-based tasks, aligned with established standards.
- Establish and maintain classroom and laboratory rules and regulations.
- Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for all students.
- Engage actively in coaching and professional development initiatives.
- Support school programming as needed during non-instructional periods.
Compensation Transparency: The salary range for this position is $62,500 - $120,000. The base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in science education or a related field.
- Current NYS Certification in Science 7-12.
