Faculty Position in Environmental Science and Studies/Plant Biology

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences and Environmental Science and Studies to join our faculty team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in environmental science and plant biology, as well as pursuing an active research program that takes advantage of the University's new Science, Innovation, Technology and Exploration building.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in environmental science and plant biology, including introductory and upper-level electives
- Develop and implement engaging, inclusive, and innovative pedagogies and experiences to enhance student learning and engagement
- Actively participate in undergraduate and/or master's student research training and mentoring
- Maintain an active research program that will engage students and lead to scholarly presentations and publications
- Communicate information about their area of expertise with the public
- Advise and mentor undergraduate or graduate students
- Foster an inclusive environment and contribute to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion at Quinnipiac University and within the Department
- PhD in Plant Science/Biology or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and publish research related to plant science
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Teaching experience at the college level
- Expertise in medicinal plants, plant physiology, ecology, genetics and/or ethnobotany
- Postdoctoral research experience
- Research program that lends itself to undergraduate or graduate student engagement
