Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida provides programs and services for adolescents and adults who face significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual/developmental challenges. Located in a supportive environment, this position is responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

Providing Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.

Behavioral Support: Implement behavior management plans and support individuals in developing coping strategies.

Skill Development: Facilitate skill-building activities, including social skills, communication, and life skills training.

Crisis Intervention: Recognize signs of distress and de-escalate situations effectively and safely.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and daily activities.

Transportation: Assist clients with transportation to appointments, community activities, or school.

Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, and family members.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required

Experience: Certified Nursing Assistant with experience working with IDD, Mental Health and/or dually diagnosed populations preferred

Schedule: Must be able to complete a two-week (Monday - Friday) new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day. Orientation is held in Titusville.

Must be able to work at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).

Must be able to work holidays.

Other Requirements: Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Test, Physical, and TB Test.

Valid driver's license

Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Must be able to drive a car and a passenger van (which holds up to 15 passengers).

Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization. Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse, and will cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent possible.
