Distribution Center Lead

Job Objective

The Distribution Center Lead is a mid-entry level leader responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and directing the day-to-day operational activities of their designated distribution center. This role ensures the accurate and timely completion of tasks, trains and develops hourly employees, manages personnel needs, and interprets and enforces organizational policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise all distribution functions within the department, including reviewing orders and schedules to ensure adherence to established timelines. Determine work priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate staffing and equipment needs to achieve operational objectives efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of materials and supplies to meet daily operational demands.
  • Oversee the movement of finished goods through the warehouse, from receiving to shipping and returns.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate Distribution Team Members to maintain high service standards and optimize productivity levels.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
  • Cultivate a safe work environment that aligns with company safety guidelines and departmental safety goals.
  • Continuously monitor and measure performance against established benchmarks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years of management experience.
