Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner III at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating respiratory therapy care and life support to patients in various areas of the medical center, including neonatal intensive care. You will work under the supervision of a physician and prescription to provide high-quality care to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' respiratory needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Implement and evaluate respiratory therapy care, including oxygen therapy, medical gas therapy, pharmaceutical treatments, chest physiotherapy, and blood gas draws
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Provide patient education and support to promote self-management and empowerment
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved 2-year Respiratory Care Accrediting Board (RCAB) or Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) school
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) from the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certifications
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate from the National Board of Respiratory Care
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sugar & Safe Care-Temperature-Airway-Blood Pressure- Lab Work-Emotional Support (S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification)
  • 2 years of recent experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
