Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner III
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner III to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner III, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in our medical center, including neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, and adult intensive care units.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapy care and life support to patients in all areas of the medical center.
- Provide life support services, oxygen therapy, medical gas therapy, pharmaceutical treatments, chest physiotherapy, blood gas draws, and other respiratory care services as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in patient care rounds and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
- Perform respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including arterial blood gas analysis, blood gas analysis, and other procedures as needed.
- Document patient care and treatment in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care and treatment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved 2-year Respiratory Care Accrediting Board (RCAB) approved school or 2-year Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) school.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) from National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certificate from National Board of Respiratory Care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sugar & Safe Care-Temperature-Airway-Blood Pressure- Lab Work-Emotional Support (S.T.A.B.L.E.) certification.
- 2 years recent experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the past 24 months.

- Schedule is subject to change.
- Position is on-call variable and may work day and/or night shift as needed.
- Schedule to include rotating weekends, holidays, and floating within the established seniority section.
