Position Overview:

  • The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the advancement of novel technologies through the lens of analytical chemistry.
  • The selected candidate will engage in the analysis of both existing and emerging technologies, including polymers, surfactants, and monomers, while developing and validating new analytical techniques in spectroscopy, with a particular emphasis on liquid state NMR.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess a solid understanding of various analytical methods, such as IR, UV, and Chromatography.
  • Take charge of planning and designing technical strategies, establishing milestones, driving projects to fruition, and effectively communicating outcomes.
  • Commit to learning safety protocols within the Syensqo environment, fostering good safety practices, and meticulously documenting all aspects of work.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an Analytical Research Laboratory.
  • Proficiency in liquid state 1D NMR (1H, 13C, 31P...) and 2D NMR (HSQC, HMBC, DOSY, ...) sequences, with the ability to apply combinations of these techniques based on project requirements.
  • Experience in liquid state NMR related to surfactants and polymer formulations.
  • Fundamental knowledge of organic chemistry, including key chemical functions and reactions.
  • Skilled in operating various laboratory instruments (IR, GC, HPLC) and understanding their complementary roles alongside liquid state NMR for comprehensive formulation analysis.
  • Develop methodologies and assist in data interpretation.
  • Document findings and progress through detailed reports and notes.
  • Support critical projects and technologies as a collaborative team member or analytical liaison.
  • Maintain high standards of laboratory safety and organization, including the management of essential supplies and equipment.
  • Exhibit strong computer skills and proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Effectively manage time and activities, identifying potential issues with priorities and resources.
  • Occasional physical demands may include lifting up to 20 lbs and working in environments with elevated noise levels.
