Position Overview:

Excellence Community Schools is in search of an enthusiastic, adaptable, and innovative Music Educator. This role encompasses the teaching of music for students in grades K-8. Experience in a classroom setting that engages all students is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver music instruction across various settings, utilizing effective teaching methods tailored to individual student goals.
  • Organize instructional materials to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Employ appropriate assessment tools to establish and communicate performance levels and set educational objectives for each student.
  • Adhere to the school's philosophy regarding behavior management and implement relevant techniques effectively.
  • Engage in all relevant activities and meetings as required by supervisors.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements and school policies, ensuring timely submission of necessary documentation.
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Exhibit open communication, adaptability, and the ability to employ team-building strategies.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Connecticut State Teaching Certification in Education K-12 is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in music education, particularly in urban school settings, is required.
  • A strong passion for teaching music and promoting music education is essential.
  • Educational and/or professional training in developing and implementing music education programs for children is required.
