Job Title: Corporate Quality Manager

Spartech, a leading manufacturer of thermoplastic products, is seeking a highly experienced Corporate Quality Manager to lead its global quality management system.

Job Summary

The Corporate Quality Manager will be responsible for setting the long-range vision of quality and driving enterprise-wide quality improvement initiatives. This role will also oversee the central management of ISO, customer complaint processes, and calibration services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system across all aspects of the organization.
  • Evaluate and monitor customer quality audits to identify trends and gaps, and develop plans to address them.
  • Provide guidance to senior leaders on improving quality systems and product quality within their businesses and functional units.
  • Assist business teams in managing and prioritizing their quality project portfolios, including selecting the appropriate channel for improvement activity and articulating required activity into project charters.
  • Develop and maintain global quality metrics, including cost of quality, and communicate results through executive dashboards and reports.
  • Manage Spartech's central certifications, including ISO, and related processes, ensuring all sites meet the standard.
  • Manage the global customer complaint system and related processes, evaluating overall effectiveness and identifying trends and common issues.
  • Provide technical leadership on quality systems, tools, and methodologies, and provide training for business leaders, quality leaders, and auditors.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise quality training curriculum, defining skills, knowledge, and certification standards for quality leaders and auditors.
  • Manage calibration services to ensure effectiveness, utilizing reported data across sites to improve overall performance.
  • Assure that raw materials specifications are defined and followed per Spartech's quality policy, monitoring and reporting on progress and health of process.
  • Manage supplier quality system evaluation process, identifying risks and addressing issues with sourcing and business teams.
  • Provide expertise and direct support for individual sites and/or businesses that may lose business or quality certifications due to ineffective quality systems.
  • Manage integrated quality system software applications to ensure effective use and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline, physical sciences, or management, or equivalent. Master's degree in engineering discipline, physical sciences, or management, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in operations and/or quality.
  • 8-10 years of quality management experience.
  • Trained in Lean techniques, with ability to lead Kaizen events.
  • Trained or certified OE Black Belt desired.
  • Experience conducting internal quality audits and responding to external quality audits preferred.
  • Minimum five years' experience with thermoplastic processing, automotive, or plastics quality management systems preferred.
  • Experience using ERP or other manufacturing systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
