Chipton-Ross is seeking 17 Aircraft Structural Assembly Specialists for a contract opportunity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Engage in intricate assembly tasks on structural components, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems utilizing both manual and automated tools.

• Execute complex assembly operations on structural and mechanical components, subassemblies, and aircraft systems using manual techniques.

• Apply extensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair processes, along with component replacement.

• Possess a thorough understanding of aircraft structural modifications and repairs, with the ability to assess the functionality of basic electrical systems.

• Operate specialized aircraft tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and sheet metal brakes.

• Utilize professional technical expertise to perform advanced structural tasks, including but not limited to pull holes, match and back drilling, fastener removals, riveting, sleeve bolt drilling, and installations of systems, wires, and tubes.

• Interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to carry out structural modifications and repairs.

• Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned responsibilities.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum of 1 year of experience following detailed work instructions and interpreting blueprints or specifications in English.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience with heavy aircraft structures.
• A minimum of 5 years in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment or similar.
• At least 5 years of experience in disassembling and reassembling aircraft components.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills, work ethic, and a sense of urgency in completing tasks.
• Experience in understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Successful completion of all screening requirements is necessary for this position.
• Ability to identify and utilize common tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Over 10 years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.
• At least 2 years of experience with composite materials.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Velocity and Radars.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Adhere to high standards of safety and compliance with regulations.
• Capable of lifting/carrying up to 10-35 pounds.

• Physical activities include flexion/extension, handling, kneeling, bending, reaching, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting, and walking.

• Climbing and balancing on stairs, ladders, and scaffolding, as well as crawling and crouching.

• Proficient in drilling, reaming, filling, and installing fasteners, as well as accurately measuring and documenting data.

• Experience with high-impact vibratory tools such as bucking and riveting tools.


EDUCATION:


Typically requires a high school diploma or GED, along with 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate's degree plus 2 years of related work, Bachelor's degree, etc.).


WORK HOURS:
• Must be open to working 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.
