Bookstore Supervisor Job Description

About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bookstore Supervisor to join our team at Hudson, a leading travel retailer. As a Bookstore Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our bookstore, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of sales associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the bookstore, including staff training, cash handling, and inventory management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that customers are greeted promptly and served by knowledgeable and well-trained associates.
  • Lead a team of sales associates, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure they meet their sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure that the bookstore is maintained in a clean and organized manner, with a focus on visual merchandising and inventory management.
  • Monitor and control internal shrink, ensuring that losses are minimized and that the bookstore is secure at all times.

Requirements:

  • One or more years of retail supervisory experience, preferably in a bookstore or similar environment.
  • Previous experience in managing a team of sales associates and providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their sales targets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and leading a team to achieve sales targets.
  • Good time-management skills and multi-tasking abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift 40lbs and work in a standing position for long periods of time.
