Job Summary:

Tidal Basin seeks a skilled Document Specialist - Travel to join our team. This role requires travel across 2-3 counties, performing case management and working closely with applicants within a program focused on disaster recovery, resiliency, and/or risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the project in a remote or onsite environment, during local office hours, Monday – Friday, excluding Holidays.
  • Perform data entry and uploading documents within the applicable systems of record.
  • Manage cases in conformance with program requirements and guidelines.
  • Collect and review documents and applicant information.
  • Advise and explain program policies, rules, and forms to applicants.
  • Collect and verify information and/or documents from applicants.
  • Sending, receiving, analyzing, and processing electronic and hard copy correspondence, documents, and forms.
  • Answering calls received through the call center and providing customer service within the call center environment.
  • Responding to phone calls, and/or emails about program requirements and the status of applications.
  • Attending all meetings as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional ability to articulate details in a manner understandable to a variety of individuals over the phone and via email.
  • Ability to work successfully with a diverse pool of applicants.
  • Team player with experience in multi-tasking, organizing, and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and ability to learn new software and database/management information systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of work experience in disaster recovery, housing support services or programs, social services, or case management preferred.
  • Bilingual language skills in English/Spanish are a plus.
