Assistant Teaching Professional

The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Teaching Professional. Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist teachers in planning and implementing daily activities, including circle time, free play, snack, toileting, cognitive, and motor activities.
- Support children with daily routines, ensuring their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs are met.
- Maintain accurate class attendance records and participate in case conference meetings to review student intervention strategies.
- Communicate effectively with parents, responding to concerns and issues related to their child's behavior and progress.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences twice yearly to review IEP goals and objectives, as well as school performance.
- Ensure proper supervision of children at all times and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- NYS Teacher Assistant Certification.
- A High School Diploma and a minimum of 6 college credits.
- One year of childcare experience in an early childhood setting preferred.
