Mortgage Loan Originator Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking applications from customers and conducting preliminary underwriting reviews
  • Submitting loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval
  • Following up with customers to ensure all necessary documents are secured in a timely manner

This position requires the ability to travel frequently and spend at least 50% of work time conducting sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations.

You will be subject to the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration requirements, including a criminal background and credit check.

Basics Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one year of experience in mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking
  • Ability to travel

Preferred Skills:

  • Well-developed sales ability
  • Basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies
  • Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors
  • Basic knowledge of local, state and national laws
  • Ability to work independently
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
