The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Bakery Operations Supervisor oversees the team and daily functions, which encompass all facets of the customer experience, cake creation, brand representation, and inventory management. The primary goal of this position is to enhance sales and profitability while ensuring that the highest quality cakes, a friendly atmosphere, and exceptional service are consistently delivered to our customers. The Bakery Operations Supervisor embodies NbC's core values and acts as a cultural ambassador to spread joy within the bakery and the surrounding community while fostering the team's dedication to our customers and the NbC brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management
    • Emphasizes the customer experience, exemplifies outstanding guest interaction, and nurtures a positive workplace culture.
    • Recruits and selects talent, ensuring that performance expectations are clearly articulated and that adequate training is provided for effective execution of responsibilities.
    • Regularly engages with team members to understand workload and progress, address challenges, and make necessary adjustments.
    • Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to develop the team and manage performance; conducts performance reviews and addresses any issues promptly.
    • Defines the role of Assistant Manager, delegating specific tasks to support the continuous leadership of the bakery team and operations.
    • Identifies potential leaders and cross-trains team members to enhance individual skills and ensure sufficient bakery coverage.
    • Maintains practical knowledge of all bakery roles and steps in as needed to fulfill various responsibilities based on business requirements.
  • Operational Management
    • Facilitates the opening and closing procedures of the bakery, including cash management and bank transactions.
    • Oversees special-order processing via online and email channels for individual and corporate clients, including large and complex orders.
    • Establishes and communicates weekly sales targets, cake production schedules, and team assignments, adjusting staffing based on evolving business trends.
    • Sets inventory levels according to production needs and sales forecasts, monitors stock, processes supply orders, and conducts monthly inventory assessments.
    • Ensures that NbC products, services, bakery environment, and visual merchandising standards are consistently maintained, adhering to food safety regulations and NbC policies.
    • Manages controllable expenses, including labor, cost of goods sold, maintenance, and supplies, to optimize profitability.
    • Handles administrative tasks, including payroll processing, sales reporting, labor and product inventory management, and basic accounting functions.
  • Community Engagement
    • Leads proactive outreach initiatives to enhance brand visibility in the community and participates in brand-aligned events while responding to requests for contributions.
    • Coordinates participation in special events with local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; further education is advantageous.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience in managing teams, business operations, and customer service within retail, hospitality, or food service sectors.
  • Proven success in hiring and developing teams, creating a superior service environment, and achieving financial goals.
  • Experience in setting productivity targets, managing inventory levels, and controlling costs.
  • Food safety training certification (or required to obtain within 30 days of employment).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
Work Availability:

Must be flexible to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on business needs.
