New Graduate Nurse Residency - Grady Health System

The Nurse Residency program at Grady Health System equips novice nurses with essential knowledge and skills to effectively transition into competent clinical nursing practice. This program not only addresses the necessary competencies to fulfill organizational objectives but also fosters leadership abilities to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. It serves as a bridge between academic education and practical nursing experience, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.

The Grady RN Residency program collaborates with Vizient, formerly known as the University Health Consortium (UHC), to design and implement curriculum and methodologies that adhere to the standards and guidelines set forth for Vizient Residency Programs and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).

Participation in the Grady RN Residency Program is mandatory for all novice and advanced beginner nurses. This comprehensive program spans one year. Research from Vizient and AACN indicates that completing a year-long RN residency program significantly aids novice nurses in acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary for providing safe, quality care.
