Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at Washington State University Vancouver's Global Change and Watershed Biogeochemistry Lab. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic program in global change and watershed biogeochemistry, focusing on modeling coastal zone nutrient impacts and developing indicators for the attainment of UNEP Millennium Sustainability Goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with an international, interdisciplinary research group to study interactions between coastal nutrient loading and harmful algal blooms (HABs) at the global scale.
  • Develop and evaluate the Index of Coastal Eutrophication Potential (ICEP), an indicator for the attainment of UNEP Millennium Sustainability Goals.
  • Participate in projects related to the biogeochemistry of reservoirs, continental-scale coastal nutrient loading, and other topics of mutual interest.
Requirements
  • MS or PhD degree in biogeochemistry, biogeochemical modeling, limnology, marine or estuarine.
  • Strong research experience and a proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
