Job Summary:

As a Software Quality Assurance Specialist at Geographic Solutions, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our information systems products and services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your primary responsibility will be to thoroughly test software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Testing: Test all software releases from the development department to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Plan and execute test projects, using analytical skills to identify and document defects.
  • Defect Tracking: Document and track all software defects, and work with the development team to resolve them.
  • Test Case Creation: Create test cases and test scripts to ensure thorough testing of software applications.
  • Release Notes: Review and assist in the creation of release notes to ensure that users are aware of any changes or updates.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to ensure that software releases meet the required standards.
  • Adherence to Company Policies: Adhere to company policies and procedures, and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with testing tools, proficiency in PC skills, and ability to use analytical skills while planning and executing test projects.
  • Application Knowledge: Sufficient application knowledge to navigate and perform basic functionality of a single software application.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, used to communicate with team members and clients.
  • Defect Tracking Tools: Utilization of defect tracking tools, such as BugTracker, DevTrack, and Quality Center.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's degree.
  • Experience: 1 year of software testing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements:
  • Testing Methodologies: Familiarity with testing methodologies and theory.
  • Microsoft SQL Server: Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server.
  • Windows Operating Systems: Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Internet Technologies: Familiarity with internet technologies.
  • Development Defect Tracking Tools: Familiarity with development defect tracking tools.
  • Software Life Cycle: Knowledge of the software life cycle.
  • Web-Based Applications: Familiarity with web-based applications.
  • Labor Market Information: Familiarity with labor market information and national employment systems.
