Job Summary:

As a Software Quality Assurance Specialist at Geographic Solutions, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our information systems products and services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Under limited supervision, you will carry out procedures to test and validate software releases, identify defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Methodology and Process Creation: Develop and implement quality methodologies and processes to ensure that our software products meet the required standards.
  • Test Case Development: Create and maintain comprehensive test cases and test scripts to validate software functionality.
  • Software Code Review: Collaborate with the development team to review and test software code, identifying defects and areas for improvement.
  • Database Testing: Conduct thorough testing of our backend databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Software Release Testing: Test all software releases from the development department, identifying and reporting defects.
  • Documentation and Tracking: Document and track all software defects, working with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the development team, providing technical expertise and support to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Work Experience/Knowledge: 5 years of software testing experience, with a strong understanding of quality methodologies and software development lifecycles.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate SQL knowledge, experience with defect tracking tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements:
  • Testing Methodologies: Strong understanding of testing methodologies and theory.
  • Software Development: Experience with software development lifecycles, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Database Management: Knowledge of database management systems, including Microsoft SQL Server.
