Position Overview:

Careerbuilder-US is seeking a skilled Numerical Control Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to analyze and interpret various engineering documentation, including models, bills of materials, and technical specifications, to effectively execute assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, models, and quality documents to perform assigned duties.
  • Provide operational models and 2D schematics for manufacturing process planning as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison for manufacturing operations, ensuring that MCAD models and 2D drawings are utilized effectively.
  • Develop and maintain tooling and fixture definitions for diverse manufacturing operations, including both MCAD and legacy designs.
  • Create and maintain CAM programs and operator instructions for numerical control machinery.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of Loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and associated digital tooling programs.
  • Possess a working knowledge of NC programming, engineering principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Apply expertise in GD&T and aerospace tolerances to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Support producibility assessments as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules of assigned work.
  • Meet established standards for cost control, scheduling, and quality to ensure competitiveness in the market.
  • Provide technical support to procurement and suppliers as directed by management.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of aircraft manufacturing to mentor and validate production engineering work.
  • Participate in training and competency testing to stay current with technological advancements.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years of college education or eight years of relevant experience in the aircraft industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions related to GD&T and aerospace tolerances.
