Salary: $90,000-$120,000

The Financial Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial functions of the organization, ensuring the precision and reliability of financial statements, maintaining a robust system of accounting records, and implementing a thorough set of controls and budgets aimed at minimizing risk. This position necessitates experience in financial management or a related field, with a strong focus on collaboration across various departments to ensure clarity and accuracy. The Financial Operations Manager will supervise the financial operations, including accounts receivable, collections, and payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Management:

  • Establish and uphold a documented system of financial policies and procedures.
  • Oversee outsourced financial functions.
  • Direct the operations of the finance department, creating an organizational structure to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Manage the financial operations of subsidiary entities, concentrating on control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.

Transactions:

  • Ensure timely disbursement of accounts payable.
  • Guarantee all applicable discounts are utilized on accounts payable.
  • Facilitate prompt collection of accounts receivable.
  • Process payroll efficiently.
  • Conduct periodic bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely settlement of financial obligations.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts.
  • Organize an orderly financial filing system.
  • Implement a system of controls over financial transactions.

Reporting:

  • Generate timely and comprehensive financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
  • Recommend benchmarks to evaluate the performance of organizational operations.
  • Calculate and distribute financial and operational metrics.
  • Manage the development of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Analyze variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
  • Provide a system of management cost reports.
  • Deliver financial analyses as required, particularly for capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.

Compliance:

  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
  • Monitor debt levels and adherence to debt covenants.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in a financial management role, with specific expertise in financial oversight or a related area.
  • Proficiency in accounts receivable and collections, with a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Experience collaborating across departments to ensure clarity and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
