Position Summary: We are looking for a Controller to oversee our financial operations. This is a full-time, in-house role that requires a strong background in finance. E-commerce experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and streamline financial operations to improve oversight, control, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Supervise and manage essential finance and accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, reconciling transactions, and budgeting.
  • Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, shipping negotiations, tax credits, and financial forecasting.
  • Examine financial data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Investigate and recommend technology and automation solutions that support return on investment.
  • Refine cost accounting processes and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Establish and uphold effective internal financial controls.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards at all levels.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, which includes part-time specialists.
  • Provide financial oversight for the Creative Kindness Foundation.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, ideally within a similar sector. A minimum of 2-5 years in a senior financial role is required.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven capability to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in financial analysis tools.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing internal control systems.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Quickbooks is advantageous but not required.
