Job Overview

The Resource Group Counseling and Education Center is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to oversee our Billing Department.

The Billing Supervisor will manage a variety of responsibilities, from basic data entry to the complex task of resolving both patient and insurance accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process billing for commercial and Medicaid insurance claims related to individual therapy, psychiatric services, and substance abuse treatment facilities.
  • Lead efforts in debt recovery.
  • Generate and distribute client billing statements.
  • Effectively manage insurance accounts receivable to address outstanding or denied claims.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding client accounts, including billing questions and payment processing.
  • Coordinate client payment plans, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and following up on declined payments.
  • Conduct audits of client accounts, billing statements, and claims to ensure precision.
  • Verify client insurance coverage and benefits for ongoing services.
  • Address and resolve accounts receivable challenges.
  • Report directly to the Director of Finance.
  • Supervise daily billing operations, including benefit verification and explanation of benefits (EOB) entries.

Essential Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Act as a liaison between the billing department and other organizational units.
  • Experience with Medicaid and familiarity with Optum systems.
  • Ability to distinguish between CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms.
  • Knowledge of Substance Abuse and Mental Health CPT and revenue coding.
  • Strong understanding of major commercial insurance plans and their policies, particularly BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Johns Hopkins, United Healthcare, and Medicaid.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $58,000 - $65,000 annually

Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Daytime hours
  • Monday through Friday

Work Environment: In-person
