Job Title: Acute Care Occupational Therapist

At Greater Baltimore Medical Center Healthcare, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Acute Care Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist in our Acute Care setting, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain their independence and functionality after illness or injury.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients' functional status, including medical history, diagnosis, and physician's orders.
  • Determine short and long-term goals with patient and caregiver input, and establish a plan of care based on evaluation results and input from other team members.
  • Implement appropriate therapeutic interventions, progress treatment plans, and teach patients and caregivers activities to reinforce therapeutic interventions.
  • Document evaluations, re-evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes, as well as record data required for statistics, billing, and quality improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members, patients, and caregivers to ensure seamless care and coordination.
Requirements:
  • BS, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • 1 year of experience, with acute care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Therapy theories, practices, and standards.
  • Competent skill in oral and written communication, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to evaluate patient function, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn EMR navigation.
  • Current Maryland license as an Occupational Therapist and Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification.
