Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Systems Engineer specializing in Mainframe API Services. The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in mainframe z/OS Connect, Unix System Services, and various mainframe transaction processing and automation technologies. This role requires a proactive individual who is eager to contribute to our mainframe technology projects and work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage OPS/MVS REXX rules, SSM tables, and associated programs.

• Troubleshoot and resolve automation challenges.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to address their automation requirements.

• Provide assistance during z/OS upgrades.

• Engage in disaster recovery planning and testing.

• Liaise with vendors for system support and issue resolution.

• Participate in a team rotation for 24/7 on-call support.

• Adapt to new automation technologies, including Python, Groovy/Java, and Jenkins Pipelines.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a comprehensive IT environment.

• At least 8 years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting technology infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of Mainframe technologies.

• Proven track record in troubleshooting OPS/MVS issues and managing complex z/OS Sysplex environments.

• Expertise in REXX Programming, OPS/MVS, IPL and shutdown processes, and subsystems such as CICS, IMS, JES2, MQ, and DB2.

• Familiarity with BMC products.

Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office attendance for three or more days per week, with flexibility for remote work on other days.
