About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiology Services Ancillary department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer radionuclide therapy and prepare, perform QC, and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for off-hour procedures.
  • Perform urgent Nuclear Medicine procedures in an on-call status or in a single technologist staffing model.
  • Check orders for complete information and proper exam, and schedule exams as needed.
  • Obtain sufficient information to determine whether the exam should be performed immediately or within a specific time frame.
  • Adhere to established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (required).
  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed).
  • BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH).
  • Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience practicing Nuclear Medicine experience (preferred).
Working Conditions

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, high noise levels, and bright lights. You may also be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids and human blood and other potentially infectious materials.
