Diagnostic Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including both common and specialized exams.
  • Perform vascular ultrasound examinations utilizing high-frequency sound waves to capture detailed images.
  • Proactively assess and respond to patient needs to enhance care quality, image clarity, and overall patient experience.

Patient Interaction:

Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their families, using appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Quality and Safety Standards:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and conduct all imaging procedures in compliance with established standards.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and infection control measures during procedures.
  • Report any near misses or errors promptly to improve processes and identify trends.

Equipment Management:

  • Perform daily quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure safe operational status.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and engage in preventive maintenance as necessary.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Accurately document patient procedures and enter charges at the time of service.
  • Utilize resources efficiently and manage time effectively to prioritize daily tasks.

Professional Development:

Engage in departmental projects and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge as a Technologist.

Education and Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited educational program recognized by the relevant credentialing body.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN, Abdomen, or Breast.
  • Radiologic Technologist in Sonography (ARRT) and Vascular Sonography (ARRT) within specified timeframes.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate the necessary skills and competencies to perform assigned duties safely.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, physicians, and team members.
  • Basic computer proficiency to manage patient and exam documentation.

Work Environment:

Uniforms are required, and employees may be required to be on-call during emergencies.
