Job Summary

Chenega Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for commercial and government facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Design electrical plans, specifications, and construction details for customer projects.
  • Utilize software to create documentation, including diagrams, flowcharts, and formulas.
  • Engineer designs from initial concept through final construction documents.
  • Coordinate with project team, customers, consultants, and general contractors to navigate design challenges and generate effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, industry standards, company policy, and customer specifications.
  • Manage construction administration responsibilities, including review of submittals and shop drawings, RFI responses, conducting site visits, and production of field reports.
  • Maintain, establish, and promote technical standards.
  • Provide construction oversight and support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience working with owners, architects, and contractors in the design of lighting, receptacles, branch circuits, electrical riser diaphragms, panel board schedules, and low voltage systems for commercial or government facilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) License within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience utilizing Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • MEP (Mechanical Electrical & Plumbing) experience Preferred.
  • AE (Architect Engineer) experience Preferred.
  • AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) experience Preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge to design facility electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of building regulatory and safety codes for electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of local and national codes and the ability to interpret and resolve questions.
