Internship Program Overview

Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GlobalFoundries across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GlobalFoundries, you'll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.


Summary of Role

As a member of a high-performing team, you will be responsible for accurately collecting electrical test data from semiconductor wafers. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and resolving issues with the accuracy of electrical test data and determining the root cause.
  • Performing structured problem-solving to find the root cause of issues that add error or electrical noise in test measurements.
  • Developing or modifying tester recipes to electrically test all required parameters.
  • Manipulating tester data output to publish results to relevant IT systems.

Other Responsibilities

You will also be responsible for:

  • Performing all activities in a safe and responsible manner and supporting all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • At least a sophomore standing at the time of application and be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field through an accredited degree program during the internship.
  • A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.
  • Language fluency in English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter and navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Classwork in basic circuits and transistor (FET, BJT) operations.
  • Classwork or experience in basic semiconductor processing.
