Summary of RoleOur Process Design Kit team is undergoing a transformative journey, and this internship presents a unique opportunity for the candidate to have a significant and lasting impact on the semiconductor industry.
We seek a highly motivated and self-driven individual who will be excited to leverage automation and Machine Learning to elevate our workflow to the next level.
Essential Responsibilities- Develop and maintain Cadence Virtuosos technology files and SKILL coding.
- Work on the development and QA of Analog Mixed Signal Design flow.
- Develop SKILL PCells, including writing callbacks and netlisting functions for simulators.
- Develop layout and schematics in the Cadence Design Environment.
- Automate and run full custom design flow, including Simulation, DRC, LVS, Parasitic Extraction, Back-annotation, and post-layout simulation.
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications- Education: At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Master's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
- Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
- Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal)
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
- Experience using Linux/Unix Environment.
- Good programming skills (python is preferred, but also Perl, Tcl, shell scripting, etc.).
- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning & organizational skills.
- Good understanding of semiconductor process layout rules and concepts.
- Experience with Database management would be a plus.
- Ability to collaborate across teams to define common project specs.
- Basic knowledge of device level layout and simulation.
- Knowledge of process design kits (PDKs), Cadence Virtuoso, and/or Cadence SKILL programming language.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques.
