About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Specialist RN II to join our team at MyMichigan Health. As a key member of our quality improvement team, you will play a critical role in collecting, analyzing, and reporting clinical data elements to support our quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborative Quality Improvement: Work with our lead physician, administrative lead, manager, service line lead/director, and other clinical resources to utilize collaborative outcome data to identify and implement quality improvement programs.
  • Data Collection and Submission: Coordinate, collect, and submit data to external registries as defined by the scope of our collaborative.
  • Performance Improvement: Collaborate with our Manager to work with external third-party auditors to ensure that standards are being met, performance improvement is occurring, and outcomes are being monitored on an ongoing basis.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Query and collate patient study information for our Manager, Physicians, Quality Committees, Strategic Business Line Director/Service Line Director or Lead for the preparation of reports and presentations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field. Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications are required. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and/or Trauma Care after Resuscitation (TCAR) certifications are preferred.
  • Experience: One year of experience in data collection, query, or an allied health field is preferred. Five years of clinical nursing experience or experience in analyzing and interpreting processes, clinical outcomes, and costs of care is preferred.

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
