About the Job

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic II to join our team. As a Technician II, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on our fleet of vehicles.

As a respected technician, you will work independently to diagnose and repair complex issues, perform road tests, and complete maintenance tasks. You will also have the opportunity to informally mentor new technicians and continue to grow your skills from experienced techs and your manager.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision
  • Repair and troubleshoot components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • Keep your work area clean and safe
  • Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs
  • Learn new skills through Penske's technician training
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials)
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to solve problems and work well as part of a team
