Job Summary

As an Enterprise Risk Management Manager at Charles Schwab, you will play a critical role in coordinating and supporting third-party risk governance, oversight, and firm-wide adoption of third-party management processes. This position requires working with various professional groups and partners to ensure effective risk management practices in alignment with company-wide policies, standards, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform company-wide oversight of third-party management processes, risks, controls, issues, and vendor associations within the MyGRC RCSA environment.
  • Manage the implementation and adoption of MyGRC third-party risk considerations company-wide.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and plan/implement improvements to support ongoing third-party risk management.
  • Develop training/communication materials and collaborate with Corporate Risk Management and First Line Risk Management Oversight to enable effectiveness in training communications broadly across impacted stakeholders.
  • Develop reports that convey business unit third-party risk status and related issues for vendors and relationships owned by business.
  • Participate in first-line defense risk forums supporting oversight from a third-party risk perspective.
  • Partner with TPRM peers to effectively manage and maintain third-party issues within MyGRC.
  • Collaborate with other risk subject matter experts on the performance of ad hoc assessments to assess third-party risks and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide guidance to business partners on risks associated with third parties.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on third-party risks.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1-2 years in financial services, with direct experience working in either a third-party risk management or other risk management function and/or vendor management function.
  • Experience in performing risk assessment and oversight.
  • Ability to operate independently while managing multiple projects/initiatives.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FRB, FFIEC, FINRA, SEC, FDIC, CFPB, CFTC, NFA).
  • Familiarity with the products and services offered by a broker-dealer, investment advisors, and/or banking institutions.
  • Outstanding analytical and research skills and ability to synthesize data.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Validated ability to build positive relationships, collaborate effectively, and establish trust, respect, and confidence.
  • Shown ability to identify and solve complex issues in a team environment working with various levels of management and business partners.
  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Excel.
  • BA/BS degree required or equivalent experience.
