About the Position:
The Alabama Department of Education seeks a highly skilled and dedicated School Guidance and Counseling Professional to join our team. As a key member of our school community, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective school guidance and counseling program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive school guidance and counseling program that addresses the needs of all students.
- Provide individual and group counseling opportunities to support students in their personal growth and academic success.
- Assist students in developing self-esteem, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school administrators to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and services to support student needs.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in guidance and counseling and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Masters degree from an accredited college or university in guidance and counseling or related field.
- Valid teacher certification with endorsement in counseling and guidance.
- Eligibility for a valid teacher certification.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow State Board of Education rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
