Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Harrison Senior Living of Chester County. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality resident care and ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume charge and direction of the nursing unit, collaborating with the Director of Resident Services to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Develop and implement effective nurse aide assignments to meet resident needs.
  • Communicate resident condition changes and staff issues to the Director of Resident Services in a timely manner.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the secure storage of medications and supplies.
  • Update resident support plans daily as needed.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and follow established protocols for resident care.
  • Assist with resident activities of daily living as required.
  • Support resident meal and fluid intake to ensure proper nutrition.
  • Accompany physicians on resident visits to ensure continuity of care.
  • Transcribe physician orders promptly and accurately.
  • Monitor nursing care and visit residents to ensure adherence to care plans.
  • Participate in receiving and giving report to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Supervise nurse aides and provide feedback on their performance.
  • Complete incident reports promptly and accurately.
  • Collect resident samples for testing as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with families, residents, and staff.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available for all disciplines.
  • Participate in staff meetings to enhance communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to problem resolution regarding employees and floor issues.
  • Participate in orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Accurately document all care provided to residents during shifts.
  • Chart medications immediately after administration.
  • Provide input on nurse aide performance to the Director of Resident Services.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education programs.
  • Operate within the scope of practice permitted by licensure and adhere to Pennsylvania State Professional Standards.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Practical Nurse licensure in good standing from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Demonstrated management, communication, and observation skills with a focus on geriatric care.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word.
