Penn Medicine LPN Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Penn Medicine in Exton, PA.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse will assist physicians and perform healthcare services to patients in hospitals, private homes, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications, give injections and vaccines, read PPD results.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKG) and screening tests.
  • Obtain and test specimens following standard operating procedures and document results, taking appropriate action with unexpected results.
  • Triage patient telephone encounters and include provider when necessary.
  • Assist provider with surgical procedures including positioning patients, keeping a sterile field, and wound cleaning and dressing.
  • Prepare paperwork to complete patient visit.
  • Obtain and document patient's vital signs as needed and report abnormal results to provider.
  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize and check to make sure all instruments and equipment are in proper working order.
  • Maintain medication storage closets.
  • Participate in orienting new team members.
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • 1+ years Outpatient experience (Required)
