Job SummaryThe Terminal Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of our asphalt terminals. This individual will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for safely producing high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Foster a Safety Culture: Engage employees, adhere to company and federal safety policies, and aim for zero incidents. Ensure compliance with environmental laws and operating permit conditions.
- Provide Leadership and Resources: Offer leadership and resources for efficient plant operations, including coordinating production scheduling, managing raw materials procurement, and ensuring effective operation of liquid asphalt terminals and equipment.
- Develop and Implement Work Schedules: Create and implement work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet objectives. Address and resolve issues related to safety, quality, reliability, and process, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Keep Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of inventory, inspections, and financials. Contribute to the development and management of the annual budget.
- Communicate with Customers: Communicate with customers to provide added value in quality, service, production, and scheduling.
- Schedule and Lead Preventative Maintenance: Schedule and lead preventative maintenance, assess the life cycle of plant components, and manage winter maintenance operations to reduce downtime.
- Identify and Address Problems: Identify and address regulatory, safety, personnel, and production problems promptly and effectively.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience with liquid asphalt terminal and/or petroleum, preferred. Quality control experience would be advantageous.
- Skills: Demonstrate high ethical standards and a dedicated commitment to safety. Strong mechanical knowledge. Proven dependability, organization, problem-solving, and adaptability skills. High degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to details. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills, proficient verbal, and written English.
- Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license. Must have legal right to work in the USA.
The Terminal Lead will work in a medium work environment, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The job involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and bending for brief periods of time in all types of weather.
