The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Education Professional to join their team. As a leading organization in education, wellness, and community-building, the YMCA is committed to making a positive impact on lives and communities in the state of Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Preschool Lead Teacher to plan and conduct engaging learning experiences that cater to individual developmental levels.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment that promotes a nurturing atmosphere for children to thrive.
  • Provide supervision during all activities both indoors and outdoors, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of the children.
  • Assess children's developmental progress and communicate with the teacher and parents accordingly, providing regular updates and insights.
  • Prepare and implement interactive lesson plans that promote creative expression, social skills, and emotional intelligence.
  • Support classroom management in the absence of the lead teacher, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the classroom.
  • Engage in parent-teacher conferences and home visits to foster strong relationships with parents and guardians.
  • Uphold classroom rules and positive behavioral management approaches that promote a culture of respect, empathy, and responsibility.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a CDA program or degree program within two years of hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements such as kneeling, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and other tasks associated with working in a preschool environment.
