Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the organization of the nurse's station, monitoring activity, and performing various clerical duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe orders from patient charts onto medication sheets and complete related paperwork.
  • Organize and maintain patient records, including filing reports and ensuring completeness.
  • Coordinate communication with physicians, staff, patients, and families through telephone and intercom systems.
  • Complete documentation related to unit activity, including current census and patient admissions.
  • Run errands as requested by nurses on duty and ensure adequate inventory of supplies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One year of computer experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include one year of secretarial experience and one year of experience with medical terminology.
