Job Overview

The Financial Modeling Analyst plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of intricate financial models that are essential throughout the lifecycle of loan and deposit products.

These models may be based on established rules or crafted using advanced statistical, mathematical, econometric, machine learning, or artificial intelligence methodologies. This role also encompasses the creation of quantitative tools that assist in pricing, profitability, and product strategy.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and execute sophisticated financial models for loss forecasting, scenario analysis, stress testing, originations & collections, pricing, and portfolio optimization across retail, consumer, and commercial assets.
  • Assist in the design of these models.
  • Utilize Python or R for data consumption, aggregation, analysis, and model development.
  • Employ Power BI to create portfolio analytics and engage with business and operational partners.
  • Leverage Microsoft Office tools for analysis, documentation, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with business and operational partners to identify needs and establish requirements.
  • Work alongside Model Owners to engage with independent reviewers, auditors, validators, and regulators.
  • Contribute to the research, design, and implementation of new financial products and portfolio strategies.
  • Assess model outputs, summarize findings, and communicate results to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Develop a data environment to support all quantitative activities.
  • Review academic and industry research, present summaries to partners and senior leadership, and propose practical applications.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as Federal and State regulations.
  • Utilize technology tools effectively to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate as part of a team.
  • Manage personal and departmental workload and workflow.
  • Prepare analyses and reports for partners and senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce departmental non-payroll costs.
  • Recommend process and procedure improvements.
  • Suggest enhancements to customer service.
  • Maximize the use of available technology tools.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as physics, mathematics, statistics, or economics is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Ph.D. is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a financial institution or consulting organization is required.
  • 2-3 years of programming experience with Python or R is required.
  • 2-3 years of programming experience with SQL, SAS, Java, C+, C++, or Julia is preferred.

This position is based onsite.
