We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Engineering team at Ingram Content Group. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting our manufacturing and distribution operations by designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver and manage multiple projects, including feasibility studies, production expansion analysis, and capital project justifications.
- Initiate and lead the design efforts for new and revised products, processes, systems, and technologies that drive efficiencies and cost savings.
- Propose, plan, and execute new programs/projects that enhance performance or increase capabilities for the business.
- Contribute to the planning and development of engineering strategy and provide technical leadership.
- Perform development, fabrication, and deployment of prototype systems, including development of industrial robotics, end-of-arm tooling, and programming routines.
- Utilize and maintain prototyping shop space to develop new systems that drive improved manufacturing and distribution center performance.
- Travel to various sites to lead the installation of new systems and communicate study results and make recommendations to management.
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with automation, including PLCs, industrial robotics, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- 2 years of project management experience.
- 2 years of experience with machine vision systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
