Position Overview

As a Media Relations Specialist at Church of the City New York, you will play a crucial role in bridging our community with the broader public through innovative media initiatives. This position demands a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on creativity, particularly in videography and photography, to effectively convey the mission and activities of our church.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and curate engaging video and photographic content that narrates the story of Church of the City New York across multiple media channels.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and Communications Director to develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy.
  • Manage all social media platforms for Church of the City New York and its various ministries.
  • Exemplify the values and standards expected of Church of the City New York staff members, as outlined in the Staff Handbook.

Qualifications:

  • A committed Christian who adheres to the authority of the Scriptures and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, reflecting this in daily life. Must fully align with the Church of the City’s Statement of Faith.
  • Demonstrated experience in media coordination, marketing, or communications, ideally within a church or nonprofit environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with media planning and analytics tools, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for storytelling through media.
  • Expertise in videography and photography, with a talent for capturing authentic and dynamic visuals that represent our church community.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience showcasing proficiency in media coordination, videography, and photography.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000
