Counselor, Substance Use Disorder Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Counselor, Substance Use Disorder to join our team at Friends of Youth. The successful candidate will provide substance use services to youth, young adults, and their families, utilizing evidence-based and culturally responsive therapeutic interventions and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide substance use assessments, individual, family, and group counseling sessions in accordance with ASAM level of care.
- Diagnose substance use conditions in accordance with the most recently published Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
- Provide urinary substance use screenings to clients.
- Teach Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS) as needed.
- Provide case consultation, linkage, advocacy, and coordination of services to collateral contacts for assigned clients.
- Maintain direct service hours at 60% of total weekly work hours.
- Associate degree in a human-service field.
- Licensed with the State of Washington as a Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee.
- Fifty hours of SUDPT hours completed, preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS365 Power Platform.
