Job Title: Instructor - Project X: Algebra Engineering Lab

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instructor to join our team for the Project X: Algebra Engineering Lab program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Algebra I to high school students in a small group setting, using a problem-based learning curriculum that incorporates engineering topics.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a sense of classroom community and establish norms and expectations for the classroom.
  • Conduct team building and social-emotional learning discussions.
  • Participate in instructor training and provide formative feedback to students.
  • Host virtual office hours and provide supplemental lessons as needed.
  • Assist students with accommodations and extensions, and provide feedback on project applications.
  • Document and communicate student progress and issues with the team and teacher of record.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Engineering, or Science field.
  • Three years of related teaching experience, preferably in middle or high school math or science content.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite and online education technologies, such as Schoology and Google Classroom.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in urban schools.
  • Math, science, or engineering teaching experience.
  • At least one year of directly related, successful secondary teaching experience teaching in transformation/turnaround or persistently low-performing context.

  • A competitive salary range of $28.30 - $49.53 HRLY (commensurate with experience).
  • A hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 6 hours per week and a maximum of 19.9 hours per week.
