Job Summary
At Birch Family Services, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role requires a unique blend of care, support, and guidance to help individuals with developmental disabilities thrive in their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their independence and autonomy.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance daily living skills, social interactions, and community engagement.
- Collaborate with care teams to ensure individualized support plans are in place and being effectively implemented.
- Monitor and report on individual progress, identifying areas for growth and development.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices and industry advancements.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1-year experience working with developmentally disabled populations; residential, health, or treatment-related settings a plus.
- Valid NYS Driver's License required.
