About the Role

As a highly skilled Youth Services Mental Health Program Lead, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative programming for High School juniors and seniors. Reporting directly to the Community School Director, you will work within our framework of a holistic, strength-focused, and family-supported practice.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement targeted initiatives for academic success, social emotional wellbeing, and life skills development.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to part-time counselor advocates, ensuring they receive ongoing feedback and support.
  • Foster partnerships with school staff, teachers, and families to promote student engagement and improve school culture.
  • Cultivate crisis counseling, conflict mediation, and social-emotional support services for students in need.
  • Work closely with the Community School Director on school-wide initiatives to enhance student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate participant files, ensuring up-to-date documentation and records.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required.
  • LMSW certification is preferred, with SIFI certification being an asset.
  • At least three years of experience working with adolescents in urban settings, providing mental health counseling services that foster educational success and social-emotional wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires occasional evening and weekend commitments. You will be based at Commonpoint Queens, working collaboratively with a dynamic team to drive positive change in the lives of our youth.

We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $75,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
