Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

The Operations Support Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting the Market Manager with daily operational tasks and ensuring a high standard of service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide daily operational support to the Market Manager, including coaching and hands-on training for team members.
  • Promote a workplace culture that reflects the core values of PODS.
  • Report employee-related issues to the Market Manager and Regional HRBP promptly; maintain ongoing communication with Human Resources for personnel management, incident reports, disciplinary actions, employee assessments, and reporting.
  • Administer the performance management process effectively across all assigned team members.
  • Engage in the quarterly and annual review process to deliver constructive feedback to all team members.
  • Utilize Samsara Software/Video to monitor compliance and report any violations to the Market Manager.
  • Assist in conducting daily pre-shift meetings at each operational center.
  • Provide support for dispatch and time-stamping for drivers.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to PODS brand standards regarding uniforms, equipment, and customer interactions.
  • Review and approve payroll on a scheduled basis.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of all warehouses and drop yards to ensure compliance with audit standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Associate Certification and OSHA regulations.
  • Participate in quarterly self-audits to maintain operational standards.
  • Assist in maintaining safe, organized, and functional storage centers and staging areas.
  • Foster a safety-oriented culture where all employees are encouraged to report unsafe conditions and contribute to continuous safety improvements.
  • Clearly communicate safety expectations and updates to all staff members.
  • Lead by example by adhering to all safety protocols and demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

This position typically reports to the Market Manager and is responsible for managing other employees, including Storage Center Workers and Equipment Maintenance Technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma required; a college degree is preferred or a minimum of one year of prior management experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL Class B License or higher.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state of employment.
  • Must be able to achieve PODS forklift certification.
  • Ability to obtain a valid DOT medical card.
  • Mechanical aptitude is essential for identifying equipment issues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods; proficient in typing and navigating with a mouse.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; capable of lifting boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional requirements to kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands for typing, and communicate verbally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work schedule is on a rotating basis, including weekdays and weekends.
  • Travel may be required within the local territory.
  • Subject to pre-employment background checks and drug screenings in accordance with company policy.
